Abstract

This is a pre-recorded version of an invited talk given at the First United Methodist Church of Huntington, WV. Approximately half of the presentation is devoted to a digital-humanities project entitled The Library of Appalachian Preaching; I also summarize my education and career path, discuss what the field of “sermon studies” is all about, and mention my other sermon-related teaching and research projects.
