Sonja G. Cantrell

Sonja G. Cantrell serves as Registrar at Marshall University. Cantrell received her doctoral degree in educational leadership in 2016, her Ed.S. in educational curriculum and instruction in 2014, her master’s degree in adult and technical education in 1999 and her bachelor’s degree in 1996, all from Marshall. Prior to her position as associate registrar, Cantrell served as the director of admissions and recruitment for Mountwest Community and Technical College. Dr.Cantrell's research interests include issues in higher education affecting first generation students and other under-represented populations as well as areas of concern related to registrar operations, including compliance with federal regulations.
