    John W. Leidy, Jr. M.D. Ph.D. F.A.C.P. serves as Associate Program Director for the Endocrinology Fellowship Program at Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University. He is currently Professor of Medicine, Pharmacology, and Physiology and has been on the faculty for more than 20 years. He is Research Coordinator and Staff Physician at the Huntington Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Leidy is board certified in Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Diabetes, and Internal Medicine. His clinical interests include 1) pituitary disorders 2) obesity 3) thyroid disease and 4) lipid disorders. His research interests include 1) hypothalamic control of growth hormone secretion by growth hormone - releasing hormone and somatostatin 2) neuroendocrine and adipocyte control of intermediary metabolism by the peptides leptin, resistin, and ghrelin.
